Your First Check-in
Daily check-ins are the core of Murmurd. They replace disruptive standup meetings with quick, async updates that take about 30 seconds to complete.
When Do Check-ins Happen?
Check-in prompts are sent daily based on your organization’s schedule:
- Default time: 9:00 AM in your timezone
- Delivery method: Slack DM, email, or both
- Frequency: Once per workday (Mon-Fri)
Submitting a Check-in

Receive your prompt
You’ll get a notification via Slack or email with your daily questions.

Answer each question
Typical questions include:
- “What did you accomplish yesterday?”
- “What are you working on today?”
- “Any blockers or concerns?”

Choose visibility
For each answer, select who can see it:
- Team: All team members can view
- Org: Everyone in the organization
- Confidential: Only you and managers

Submit or skip
Click Submit to save your check-in, or Skip if you’re away.
Check-in via Slack
If you’ve connected Slack, you can complete check-ins directly in Slack:
Click the Submit Check-in button in your Slack DM to open the submission form.
Use quick action buttons to:
- Submit: Open the check-in form
- Skip: Mark today as skipped
- Pause: Temporarily pause prompts
Check-in via Web
Prefer the web interface? Log in to app.murmurd.com and:
- Click Check-in in the navigation
- Select the team(s) you’re checking in for
- Answer the questions
- Click Submit
Viewing Check-ins
After submitting, your check-in appears in:
- Dashboard: Your recent activity
- Team Activity Feed: Shared with teammates
- Weekly Summaries: Aggregated insights
