Your First Check-in

Daily check-ins are the core of Murmurd. They replace disruptive standup meetings with quick, async updates that take about 30 seconds to complete.

When Do Check-ins Happen?

Check-in prompts are sent daily based on your organization’s schedule:

  • Default time: 9:00 AM in your timezone
  • Delivery method: Slack DM, email, or both
  • Frequency: Once per workday (Mon-Fri)

Submitting a Check-in

  1. Receive your prompt

You’ll get a notification via Slack or email with your daily questions.

  2. Answer each question

    Typical questions include:

    • “What did you accomplish yesterday?”
    • “What are you working on today?”
    • “Any blockers or concerns?”
  3. Choose visibility

For each answer, select who can see it:

    • Team: All team members can view
    • Org: Everyone in the organization
    • Confidential: Only you and managers
  4. Submit or skip

Click Submit to save your check-in, or Skip if you’re away.
